Description
Our System Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, system testing, service, and modification of our Building Carbon Capture System (BCCS). The Technician ensures our BCCS are maintained and serviced on the appropriate schedule to ensure optimal performance.
Additionally, the individual will support the Operation Engineering team during system startup and commissioning.
Responsibilities:
- Following system installation, the Maintenance Technician will develop the service schedule for all of the subsystems in the BCCS system. This includes:
- Oil changes
- Filter changes
- Pipe flange torque checks
- Gasket replacement
- Cooling water system maintenance
- System Adsorbent and Drier material replacement
- Site Maintenance
- Tool management
- Alarm and sensor calibration and maintenance
- Infrared analysis of system components
- Instrument air maintenance
- Compressor rebuilds
- Use of Diagnostic test equipment
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
- Recommends ways to improve performance by reducing time, cost, and errors.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment according to company policies.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
- Performs all tasks safely accordingly to company safety procedures
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
- Basic operating principles of compressors, pumps, motors as well as general mechanical systems.
- Basic electrical systems including controls and control logic, current and voltage readings, fuse replacement and fundamental AC/DC electrical behavior.
- Basic plumbing skills including pumps, liquid systems, pressurized gas operations and safety techniques.
- Using and maintaining hand and power tools and equipment of the trade.
- Basic computer skills and online based applications and record keeping.
- Understanding and following oral and written directions. Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of company and facility safety policies/programs, and environmental and regulatory policies/requirements.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills
- Organized management of tools
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Education Level: Associate’s Degree (automotive, refrigeration, electrician, computer science).
- Experience in low and high voltage (VDC), medium voltage (VAC) and PLC logic.
- Experience installing electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Experience in electrical terminations and mechanical torque techniques.
- Experience with test related equipment (digital multimeters, pneumatic gauges, etc.)
- Must have experience working within and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to read drawings, blueprints and diagrams.
- Must be able to read and perform procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to diagnose and make various electrical & mechanical adjustments using provided procedures.
- Careful attention to detail and dedication to customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
