Manufacturing Technician

Location: Spokane, Washington

Description

Our Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, component verification, system testing, and modification of our Building Carbon Capture System (BCCS). The Manufacturing Technician ensures our BCCS are assembled and evaluated to meet all internal and external requirements.

Additionally, the individual will support the continuous improvement of our BCCS product line to include streamlining of fabrication and cost reduction. He or she will work with internal and external stakeholders to improve our completed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical assembly, using manual hand tools and power tools.
  • Operates a forklift and other material handling equipment to receive and position materials and equipment 
  • Receives inbound shipments, stocks shelves, maintains accurate inventory, prepares finished goods for shipment, and loads outbound trailers.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Uses measuring devices in the course of the work, positioning equipment and skids according to assembly drawings. 
  • Assists in electrical and mechanical testing.
  • Works with Engineering and other production staff regarding modifications; performing modifications to mechanical components, pressure vessels and process piping, as directed.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Recommends ways to improve performance by reducing time, cost, and errors. 
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment according to company policies.
  • Performs all tasks safely according to company safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences: 

  • Understanding of commercial and industrial pipe, valves and fittings.
  • Forklift experience and the ability to pass the certification course
  • Knowledge of the tools and techniques to install, align, maintain and repair industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Understanding and following oral and written directions. Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of company and facility safety policies/programs, and environmental and regulatory policies/requirements.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • 2-5 years electro-mechanical assembly experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates degree, or higher, a plus.
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints and diagrams.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and perform procedures.
  • Experience in mechanical torque techniques. Pipe fitting and carpentry experience a plus.
  • Must have experience working within and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Can-do attitude, with strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Careful attention to detail and dedication to customer service.
  • Job requires extended standing, lifting (up to 70 lbs) and physical exertion.
  • Job may require travel to installed plant locations to support installation and repairs.
